Favre Leuba

Overview

Favre Leuba made 5 different lines of watches using a high frequency movement of its' own manufacture. The Favre Leuba movement used in these watches was the FL 1164 day/date and FL 1162 date.

Sea Raider

Favre Leuba Sea Raider

These oversized 70s modern styled watches were first produced with regular beat movements and then subsequently with FL 1164 36000 vph movements. Sea Raiders and Sea Raider II's are usually marked as 36,000 versions, either on the face or on the case back of the watch. Ladies versions of these watches unfortunately do not use high beat movements.

Moon Raider

Another series of oversized 70s modern styled watches, these too were first produced with regular beat movements and then subsequently with FL 1164 36000 vph movements. Moon Raiders and Moon Raider II's are usually marked as 36,000 versions, either on the face or on the case back of the watch.

Typhoon

This watch featured a modernized take on the traditional watch. Slightly bulkier and chunkier but still in a traditional men's watch silhouette. Typhoon and Typhoon II's are usually marked as 36,000 versions, either on the face or on the case back of the watch and utilized the 1164 day/date movement.

Duomatic

Favre Leuba Duomatic

This model watch is the mainstay of the Favre Leuba watch line up. Its' name is derived from the original dual barrel powered watch ("Twin Power") which Favre Leuba developed to minimize movement wear, and size and the Duomatic model name was intended to reflect the fact that the watches were automatic twin powered watches. It maybe for this reason, that when Favre's non-twin barreled high beat movement was used in this model watch, there were external markings indicating the fact. Over the years this model watch was made, both traditional and mildly modern styled versions were made with Favre Leuba's 1164 day/date 36,000bph movements.

Deep Blue

This watch was one of the few Diver's watches made with a high frequency movement. Deep Blue watches from the late 60s to the early 70s have the Favre Leuba 1162 date movement and have no external markings indicating their beat frequency.
